…can quickly become another team’s trash during the course of MLB’s winter meetings.
Thank you, Walt Jocketty, for removing an aging money pit from behind home plate in Baltimore. Also, Justin Turner looks like he could have the potential to solve the Orioles’ shortstop problem for pennies on the dollar.

I got it I got it I got it I got it I got it, damn.

See, the sad thing is the Hernandez’s numbers were better than anyone the Reds had behind the plate last year. And they only went after him because he had one good year a few years back. Great player personnel strategy.
Freel wasn’t getting any playing time in Cincinnati, and when he did play, he’d end up running head first into a wall and be on the DL for three months (it’d also be a small miracle if he saw more than 3 pitches in at bat). A lot of people here loved Freel because he approached the game a lot like Pete Rose did (multiple positions, always played hard, would dive needlessly into bases just to get his uniform dirty, etc.). The problem with that is the Freel isn’t a tenth of the player Rose was. I’m not sad to see him go.
I don’t know too much about the two minor leaguers, but the Reds have guys had a lot of guys that can play short, so I’m guessing Turner was expendable.
